Saturday, June 6, 2026 Update

Yesterday the nJ Tube (Nasal Jejunum Tube) was successfully inserted. They have Armando on a very low and slow feed right now as he was already having issues by the evening vomiting up his food. So they stopped the feeding for a while resuming again later last night. They also put a drain bag for the previous PEG Tube and he seems to be doing better with that.

The next issue being worked on is his lungs. He’s very congested and a lot of times his cough is too weak plus not getting up and moving around, he’s not being able to get the junk up. He’s been getting nebulizer breathing treatments and chest shaking treatments which helped. But then they had to go through the nasal… the one that’s not already occupied with a tube, and clear his airway that way. 

This afternoon, Armando was awake and extra alert. He was having me remind him of who all came to visit and he remembers, even those who came but weren’t able to actually come in the room. All of it meant a lot to him!

Ayer se insertó con éxito el tubo nY (Tubo de Yeyuno Nasal). Tienen a Armando en una alimentación muy baja y lenta en este momento, ya que ya estaba teniendo problemas por la noche vomitando su comida. Así que dejaron de alimentarse por un tiempo y se reanudaron más tarde anoche. También pusieron una bolsa de drenaje para el tubo PEG anterior y parece que le va mejor con eso.

El siguiente problema en el que se está trabajando son sus pulmones. Está muy congestionado y muchas veces su tos es demasiado débil, además de no levantarse y moverse, no es capaz de levantar la basura. Ha estado recibiendo tratamientos de respiración con nebulizador y tratamientos para sacudir el pecho que ayudaron. Pero luego tuvieron que pasar por la nariz... la que aún no está ocupada con un tubo, y limpiar sus vías respiratorias de esa manera.

Esta tarde, Armando estaba despierto y muy alerta. Estaba haciendo que le recordara a todos los que vinieron de visita y él recuerda, incluso a los que vinieron pero no pudieron entrar en la habitación. ¡Todo eso significó mucho para él!
