So mu has happened in the last few days it’s been hard to keep up. Since Armando has been eating so well by mouth, he was taken completely off of tube feedings after the doctor took a calorie count over the course of several days. The tubes are still in place and will need to stay in for at least a couple of weeks but we’ll see what the doctor says when he goes to his appointment at that time. He’s still having to eat very soft foods as before but he has a hearty appetite!
Now for the biggest news! Armando was discharged from the hospital Monday night! He was so excited to be able to come home, I thought any minute he’d get up and RUN out of that hospital! Since he’s barely able to walk yet, that wouldn’t have been feasible. But now he’s home. Because of delays with insurance, he will not be able to go to rehab as of yet but we both agree at this point that outpatient rehab visits will best suit his needs whenever we’re finally approved.
I can’t tell you how many times we were told how remarkably fast he has recovered, being able to do things that takes most stroke patients 6-12 months to be able to do. What a testimony of God’s grace and mercy and a witness that truly, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever and that He is a prayer answering God! We are so grateful for all your prayers!
Now that Armando is home, realizing the magnitude of what has happened to him and adjusting is the most challenging part of this chapter. Continued prayer would be much appreciated, most specifically for Armando.
