Updates: 

Kidney: 

Armando had a CT scan and follow-up appointment with the urologist who said that the nodule has shrunk so he’ll repeat the scan in a year and keep an eye on it. He stated that he had already seen this nodule several years ago when he performed Armando’s surgery but because it didn’t look concerning, didn’t say anything about it.

Lungs:

Armando had his appointment with the pulmonologist, following up from the CT scan. He has several nodules in his lung. The doctor said he’s not too concerned about most of them. However, he wants him to have a biopsy for the larger one (11cm). He said it could be an infection but it also could be cancer and would need to be treated as soon as possible while it’s still small.

Speech and Swallow:

Both have improved tremendously. He still has trouble swallowing here and there and speech is slurred when he’s tired or just woke up. He’s scheduled to be seen by an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist as he’s been experiencing what they call Nasal Regurgitation. Liquids have a tendency to pour out of his nose when he’s drinking. Rather unpleasant!

Walking:

He’s improving little by little! Sometimes he’s able to walk around the house without his walker but he usually waits until all the littles are gone or in bed to do this. Our youngest grandbuddy has a tendency to attack with great big hugs but we don’t need Armando to fall. 😅 Armando’s scheduled for a physical therapy evaluation so we’ll see how that goes and what they say. 

Armando’s phone:

I don’t know what our son did, but after several months of not being able to get into to his phone, Armando’s being able to use it again! Unfortunately, all of his photos are gone as well as any newer contacts.

Actualizaciones:

Riñón:

Armando tuvo una tomografía computarizada y una cita de seguimiento con el urólogo que dijo que el nódulo se ha encogido, por lo que repetirá la exploración en un año y lo vigilará. Afirmó que ya había visto este nódulo hace varios años cuando realizó la cirugía de Armando, pero como no parecía preocupante, no dijo nada al respecto.

Pulmones:

Armando tuvo su cita con el neumólogo para hacer un seguimiento de la tomografía computarizada. Tiene varios nódulos en el pulmón. El médico dijo que no está demasiado preocupado por la mayoría de ellos. Sin embargo, quiere que le hagan una biopsia para la más grande (11 cm). Dijo que podría ser una infección, pero también podría ser cáncer y que tendría que ser tratado lo antes posible mientras aún sea pequeño.

Hablar y tragar:

Ambos han mejorado enormemente. Todavía tiene problemas para tragar aquí y allá y el habla se confunde cuando está cansado o acaba de despertarse. Está programado que sea visto por un especialista en oído, nariz y garganta, ya que ha estado experimentando lo que ellos llaman regurgitación nasal. Los líquidos tienden a derramarse por su nariz cuando está bebiendo. ¡Más bien desagradable!

Caminando:

¡Él está mejorando poco a poco! A veces puede caminar por la casa sin su andador, pero generalmente espera hasta que todos los pequeños se hayan ido o estén en la cama para hacer esto. Nuestro nieto más joven tiende a atacar con grandes abrazos, pero no necesitamos que Armando se caiga. 😅 Armando está programado para una evaluación de fisioterapia, así que veremos cómo va eso y qué dicen.

Teléfono de Armando:

No sé qué hizo nuestro hijo, pero después de varios meses de no poder entrar en su teléfono, ¡Armando puede usarlo de nuevo! Desafortunadamente, todas sus fotos han desaparecido, así como cualquier contacto más nuevo.
